Today for my electronic media class i had to create a knight or a robot using adobe illustrator and only using shapes. This is what i created. It was really fun to make, except i think i did mine wrong because everyone else's looked totally different...opp's.

i don't think you did it wrong, you just did it in a more shading way than a lot of us, instead of a high-contrast graphic way.
