Thesis: Gothic story #2 Masque of the Red Death

Masque of the red death by Edger Allan Poe
Prince Prospero and other nobles take refuge in an abbey to escape the Red Death,
a terrible plague that makes its victims feel convulsive agony and sweat blood instead
of water. Prospero and his court are indifferent to the sufferings of the population out side
the Abby, intending to await the end of the plague in luxury and safety. One night, Prospero
holds a masquerade ball to entertain his guests in seven colored rooms of the abbey.
The room decorated in black a large ebony clock ominously clangs at each hour, upon
which everyone stops. Once the chiming stops, everyone acts like nothing happened
and continue on with the masquerade. At the chiming of midnight Prospero notices one figure
in a dark, blood-splattered robe with a mask with traits of the Red Death.
Insulted by the figures appearance, Prospero demands to know the identity of the guest.
When nobody dares to approach the figure, the prince pursues him with a drawn dagger until he is
cornered. When the figure turns to face him, the Prince lets out a sharp cry and falls dead
The enraged and terrified revelers run to the room and forcibly remove the mask and robe,
only to find to their horror that the figure is actually the Red Death itself, and all of the guests
contract and succumb to the disease.

This is an amazing story, it was very inspirational and fun to illustrate. READ IT, YOU MAY LOVE IT.
